Why Tamanu Oil?

Gaining popularity in recent years, Tamanu Oil has been recognized for its calming and healing properties. Indeed, one study has shown that one preparation of Tamanu Oil “showed cell proliferation, glycosaminoglycan and collagen production, and wound healing activity.” Those who have tried Tamanu Oil in the past have noted that the appearance of scars and fine lines, in addition to inflammation and other forms of discoloration, did improve over time! Tamanu oil itself has a bit of a scent and is rather thick, so for those who are new to using this oil, its something to keep in mind!

So Tamanu Oil is the key ingredient? Cool… But where is it from?

make p:rem sources their Tamanu Oil from Madagascar, known as the source for pure and quality Tamanu products, including of course, the oil! No corners were cut when making selections on which ingredients are included, and from where. Not only that, the Tamanu Oil found in our serum has been extracted via the Cold Press method, ensuring that all of the delicate and vital compounds are kept safe and intact, an issue found with heat and chemical-based extraction methods.

What about the Hyaluronic Acids?

Our serum, while starring Tamanu Oil, holds other quality ingredients as well. When it comes to Hyaluronic Acids, a multi-layer approach was taken using 6 different kinds to ensure that your skin is infused by this wonderful ingredient on different levels! Hyaluronic Acids come in multiple forms, and subsequently, multiple ‘weights’ or sizes as well. The larger sizes will be able to penetrate the upper areas of the skin, but will have difficulties reaching the deeper areas. This is where the smaller sizes come in; due to their smaller form, they can navigate easier in the small ‘crevices’ found within the skin.

– Upper Layer (Heavy Molecular Weight): Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer

– Middle Layer (Moderate Molecular Weight): Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate

– Deeper Layer (Light Molecular Weight): Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans

What about them?

Plant botanicals are widely used in skincare products, in fact, the vast majority of them, due to the benefits they each offer. Our serum is no different in that regard, but we’ve chosen a complex of extracts that would work well with the Tamanu Oil and Hyaluronic Acids, including:

Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract – Concentrated with antioxidant compounds, soothes skin, alleviates troubled skin, has anti-aging benefits

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract – Also known as ‘Tea’ or ‘Green Tea’, packs powerful antioxidants, helps maintain collagen, reduces inflammation

Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract – Scavanges harmful free radicals, boosts skin hydration, fights against appearance of fine lines

Eruca Stiva Leaf Extract – Helps protect skin from the effects of the environment, packed with minerals

Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Sprout Extract – Helps soften skin, increases skin hydration

Brassica Oleracea Italica (Brocolli) Sprout Extract – Helps protect skin from the effects of the environment, known to regenerate cells

Lepidium Sativum Sprout Extract – Packed with vitamins, and helps treat irritated skin (reduces inflammation)

What else?

Careful thought was put into the entirety of the product. Beyond the selection of ingredients are the considerations on the container itself. The serum inside the bottle has been kept ‘airless’, in that it is maintained in an environment isolated from air to prevent bacteria proliferation and oxidation from occurring. The airless pump causes the bottom part of the bottle to rise up, maintaining the airless state, each time the product is used. In this way, the Serum itself is kept in a preserved state.

💚 How to use :

As a serum product, it is advised to be used after lighter skincare products, including a toner and essence, are first used, but before anything heavier like a cream is applied. Start off with a smaller amount then re-apply if necessary. It is easier to add on product when more is needed, but difficult to remove it if too much is applied.

💚 Texture : Creamy it's more like light cream than serum

💚 Scent : Strong herbal scent but I like it

💚 Packaging : Very nice color and clean design, I like this look and easy in use pump
💚 Color : Avocado green

My opinion :

First I love packaging, it looks really good and color is so pretty
I was very surprised about this serum color and texture, it's like light cream but thanks to this it moisturizes a lot better than other watery serums
Creamy but light
It's perfect for winter time
Scent surprised me too but after few days of using I started to like it, it's very nice herbal scent but strong
That's all because of this amazing tamanu oil
Hydrate skin and makes it so soft and smooth
Calming irritations effect is small and doesn't work immidiately
I still love this serum
